Best Time to Visit Jim Corbett, Season by Season
By Maulik Hospitality Editorial · Updated 2026-08-22
There is no single best month - there are three different Corbetts:
October - November | Fresh and Green
Parks reopen post-monsoon; vegetation is thick so sightings need patience, but landscapes are photogenic, weather mild, rates lower. Great for relaxed family trips.
December - February | Peak Comfort
Cold mornings (pack layers - seriously), misty grasslands, excellent birding. Sightings moderate; atmosphere unbeatable. Book weekends far ahead.
March - June | Tiger Prime Time
Heat thins the cover and draws wildlife to waterholes - highest sighting probability, especially April-May mornings. Afternoons hit 42°C; plan dawn safaris and poolside middays. Summer holidays make April-June weekends the priciest.
July - September | Monsoon Shutdown (Mostly)
Core zones like Dhikala close; Jhirna-Dhela stay weather-permitting. Resorts discount heavily, forests turn emerald - good for writers, couples and rain lovers, not for serious tiger chasers.
