Best Time to Visit Ranthambore for Tiger Sightings
By Maulik Hospitality Editorial · Updated 2026-08-22
October - November | Reopening Green
Park reopens around October (exact date announced yearly). Grass is tall, light is beautiful, sightings need patience - crowds are thin and rates friendly.
December - February | Peak Season
Chilly dawn drives (pack layers and gloves), migratory birds at Padam Talao and Surwal, fort views crystal-clear. Weekends sell out weeks ahead - book stays and permits early.
March - April | The Sweet Spot
Our favourite window: warm but bearable mornings, drying waterholes concentrating wildlife, and pre-summer pricing before school holidays.
May - June | Sighting Supremacy
Harsh heat (45°C afternoons) but the highest tiger-encounter odds of the year as animals line up at remaining water. Short morning shifts only; siesta by the pool between.
July - September | Closed
The park shuts for monsoon. Use this window for Jaipur-Agra circuits instead, or plan next season with our Ranthambore resorts.
